Baby boomers bad

I heard something funny on the radio today. They say the rental market is at its lowest availability since they started gathering data, back in the 70s. And what explanation did they found? That baby boomers don’t want to sell their houses and move to retirement homes, preferring to rudely occupy over 100 square meters mansions, while 30-year-olds desperately need a home.

How dare they?!?

You get it, right? It’s not the fault of politicians, not because of millions of new immigrants, not because of taxes, bureaucratic red tape stifling new construction  or God forbid, the multitude of environmental regulations blocking new developments nooo, it’s the stubborn baby boomers who refuse to move to nursing homes.

Wanna hear something else funny? A true story that illustrates how the repercussions of certain policies begin to affect the elites who promote them. In this case, a prosecutor from British Columbia was stabbed by a homeless downtown, where they were allowed to settle freely, and the same prosecutors who advocated for light or no sentences now want to relocate the courthouse to a safer area. The irony is unbelievable. It gets at the point where no matter how well they isolates themselves, in gated communities, with private security, the social degradation that they nursed slowly reaches them too.
